Benvolgudes famílies,

Comencem un nou curs amb l’escola ben preparada i amb novetats a les aules d’Infantil, que hem renovat i redistribuït amb una lògica més funcional, i que creiem que aportarà encara més benestar als alumnes. Aquests primers dies de setembre hem acabat d’enllestir-ho tot, els equips estan a punt i tots tenim moltes ganes de tornar a omplir les aules d’alumnes i nous aprenentatges. Entre aquests, aquest curs incorporem també dues noves optatives a l’ESO: Economia i Emprenedoria, i Comunicació i Periodisme.

En un moment de canvis constants, de molta mobilitat arreu i d’una certa incertesa, crec que té un valor especial poder començar amb aquesta estabilitat i transmetre normalitat i confiança als alumnes. Tenir un projecte propi ens permet evolucionar, incorporar nous coneixements i prendre decisions amb criteri, sempre prioritzant allò que considerem essencial en la seva educació.

En aquest sentit, un exemple que tots coneixeu és la Cultura de Pensament, que el 2018 vam introduir al projecte educatiu del Pino. Ja aleshores us parlàvem de la metacognició com un dels grans beneficis d’aquesta manera d’aprendre. Avui se’n parla cada vegada més, però per a nosaltres no és una paraula nova ni un concepte abstracte, i menys encara pels alumnes que sovint tanquen els aprenentatges amb l’Escala de la metacognició. En essència, és la capacitat de conèixer com pensem i com aprenem. Saber què sabem i què no sabem, reconèixer quines estratègies ens funcionen, detectar quan no hem entès alguna cosa, revisar el nostre raonament i buscar altres camins.

És precisament el que perseguim quan fem visible el pensament a l’aula, quan demanem als alumnes que no es limitin a donar una resposta, sinó que expliquin com hi han arribat, i quan els convidem a preguntar-se, argumentar, relacionar idees i revisar les seves conclusions. Tot aquest treball previ adquireix avui encara més importància, en un moment en què la intel·ligència artificial ens permet obtenir respostes, textos, síntesis i informació en qüestió de segons. Aquestes eines formaran part del món dels nostres alumnes i seria absurd educar-los d’esquena a aquesta realitat. Però precisament perquè tindran cada vegada més eines capaces de pensar per ells, serà encara més important que coneguin les seves pròpies capacitats, les continuïn exercitant i no deleguin processos essencials per al seu desenvolupament cognitiu.

Potser aquesta és una de les responsabilitats més interessants que tenim avui com a escola. Preparar els alumnes per a un món que canvia molt de pressa sense haver de córrer darrere de cada canvi. Donar-los coneixements, eines i tecnologia, però també una manera de pensar que els permeti orientar-s’hi. Comencem, doncs, aquest nou curs amb aquesta voluntat, amb la solidesa de saber d’on venim, la il·lusió de continuar avançant i, sobretot, amb moltes ganes de tornar a tenir els i les alumnes a l’escola.

Carta de Bienvenida al curso 2026-27

Queridas familias,

Empezamos un nuevo curso con la escuela bien preparada y con novedades en las aulas de Infantil, que hemos renovado y redistribuido con una lógica más funcional y que creemos que aportará aún más bienestar a los alumnos. Durante estos primeros días de septiembre hemos acabado de ponerlo todo a punto, los equipos están preparados y todos tenemos muchas ganas de volver a llenar las aulas de alumnos y nuevos aprendizajes. Entre estos, este curso incorporamos también dos nuevas optativas en la ESO: Economía y Emprendimiento, y Comunicación y Periodismo.

En un momento de cambios constantes, de mucha movilidad y de cierta incertidumbre, creo que tiene un valor especial poder empezar con esta estabilidad y transmitir normalidad y confianza a los alumnos. Tener un proyecto propio nos permite evolucionar, incorporar nuevos conocimientos y tomar decisiones con criterio, priorizando siempre aquello que consideramos esencial en su educación.

En este sentido, un ejemplo que todos conocéis es la Cultura de Pensamiento, que en 2018 incorporamos al proyecto educativo del Pino. Ya entonces os hablábamos de la metacognición como uno de los grandes beneficios de esta manera de aprender. Hoy se habla cada vez más de ella, pero para nosotros no es una palabra nueva ni un concepto abstracto, y aún menos para los alumnos, que a menudo cierran sus aprendizajes con la Escalera de la metacognición. En esencia, es la capacidad de conocer cómo pensamos y cómo aprendemos. Saber qué sabemos y qué no sabemos, reconocer qué estrategias nos funcionan, detectar cuándo no hemos entendido algo, revisar nuestro razonamiento y buscar otros caminos.

Es precisamente lo que perseguimos cuando hacemos visible el pensamiento en el aula, cuando pedimos a los alumnos que no se limiten a dar una respuesta, sino que expliquen cómo han llegado a ella, y cuando los invitamos a hacerse preguntas, argumentar, relacionar ideas y revisar sus conclusiones. Todo este trabajo previo adquiere hoy aún más importancia, en un momento en que la inteligencia artificial nos permite obtener respuestas, textos, síntesis e información en cuestión de segundos. Estas herramientas formarán parte del mundo de nuestros alumnos y sería absurdo educarlos de espaldas a esta realidad. Pero precisamente porque tendrán cada vez más herramientas capaces de pensar por ellos, será aún más importante que conozcan sus propias capacidades, las sigan ejercitando y no deleguen procesos esenciales para su desarrollo cognitivo.

Quizá esta sea una de las responsabilidades más interesantes que tenemos hoy como escuela. Preparar a los alumnos para un mundo que cambia muy deprisa sin tener que correr detrás de cada cambio. Darles conocimientos, herramientas y tecnología, pero también una manera de pensar que les permita orientarse en él. Empezamos, pues, este nuevo curso con esta voluntad, con la solidez de saber de dónde venimos, la ilusión de seguir avanzando y, sobre todo, con muchas ganas de volver a tener a nuestros alumnos y alumnas en la escuela.

Welcome Letter for the 2026–27 School Year

Dear Families,

We begin a new school year with the school fully prepared and with some exciting changes to our Early Years classrooms, which have been renovated and reorganised to make them more functional and, we believe, provide an even greater sense of wellbeing for our pupils. During these first few days of September, we have been putting the finishing touches to everything, our teams are ready and we are all looking forward to seeing our classrooms filled once again with pupils and new learning experiences. This year, we are also introducing two new optional subjects in Secondary School: Economics and Entrepreneurship, and Communication and Journalism.

At a time of constant change, considerable mobility and a certain degree of uncertainty, I believe there is particular value in being able to start the year with this sense of stability and in conveying confidence and reassurance to our pupils. Having our own educational project allows us to evolve, incorporate new knowledge and make thoughtful decisions, while always prioritising what we consider essential in their education.

One example that you are all familiar with is our Culture of Thinking, which we introduced into Pino’s educational project in 2018. Even then, we were already talking to you about metacognition as one of the key benefits of this approach to learning. Today, metacognition is increasingly discussed, but for us it is neither a new term nor an abstract concept, and even less so for our pupils, who often conclude their learning processes with the Ladder of Metacognition. In essence, metacognition is the ability to understand how we think and how we learn. It means knowing what we know and what we do not know, recognising which strategies work for us, identifying when we have not understood something, reviewing our reasoning and finding alternative ways forward.

This is precisely what we aim to achieve when we make thinking visible in the classroom, when we ask pupils not simply to give an answer but to explain how they arrived at it, and when we encourage them to ask questions, build arguments, connect ideas and reconsider their conclusions. All this work is even more important today, at a time when artificial intelligence allows us to obtain answers, texts, summaries and information in a matter of seconds. These tools will be part of our pupils’ world, and it would make little sense to educate them without acknowledging this reality. Yet precisely because they will have access to an increasing number of tools capable of thinking for them, it will be more important than ever for them to understand their own abilities, continue to exercise them and avoid delegating processes that are essential to their cognitive development.

Perhaps this is one of the most interesting responsibilities we have as a school today. To prepare pupils for a world that is changing very quickly without having to chase after every change. To give them knowledge, tools and technology, but also a way of thinking that enables them to find their bearings. We therefore begin this new school year with this purpose, with the strength that comes from knowing where we come from, the enthusiasm to keep moving forward and, above all, a great desire to welcome our pupils back to school.
